Top Ten Tuesday: Childhood Favorites

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of their bloggers at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join.

This week they ask: Top Ten Childhood Favorites?

1. A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein: I absolutely loved this book growing up. My grandma used to help me read it and when I got older read it all the time, I still have it on my bookshelf. We even did short skits about the poems in high school for the grade school students.

2. Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish: Yep, I totally loved that cooky, hilarious maid. She made me laugh with embarrassment every time I read it.

3. Naya Nuki: Shoshoni Girl Who Ran by Kenneth Thomasma: I remember back in 5th grade the author came to our school and talked to us about his book. I was so impressed about it, he gave out autographed copies to our class. I read the book about a million times, and it still sits on my bookshelf.

4. Aesop's Fables - Aesop: I loved the stories. This brings me back to my childhood memories of when everything was a simpler time and I lived with my grandparents.

5. The Berenstain Bears by Stan & Jan Berenstain: I loved each and everyone of these great books. I think I had stacks of these on my dresser at my grandparents.

6. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis: We read this in school, I decided that I wanted my parents to buy it for me. When I read it, I imagined myself in that world and pictured everything. Ah, the imagination of children.

7. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien: What can I say, I developed a love of fantasy at a young age and it stuck with me through the years.

8. Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown: Still am loving this book! One of my all time favorites, and I'm starting the tradition with my two year old.
9. Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne: Another classic novel! I have always loved these wonderfully crazy, cuddly, wacky, sweet characters. My daughter loves them too!

10. The Babysitter's Club by Ann M. Martin: I remember I wasn't sure if I would like these. My friend had left her copy at my house after a sleepover we had. I decided I would try to read it. I enjoyed it so much that everytime my allowance came, it went, right into these books. I had the whole series.

Oh, I just read the Hobbit last night! I think I would have enjoyed it more as a kid.
Aesop's fables irritated and enthralled me at the same time.

There is a new collection of Aesop's Fables out this year. It was put together by Beverley Naidoo. It is a lovely book!

My little princess's favorite book is "Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne". Every night before bed I must read it to her, because she can't sleep without listening it. I love to read it from my new ebook reader, which allows me to have a big library...with many titles and I can download my favorites from all you can books, a great place where I can find everything.
