Alexa Hollen is a fighter. Forced to disguise herself as a boy and serve in the king's army, Alex uses her quick wit and fierce sword-fighting skills to earn a spot on the elite prince's guard. But when a powerful sorcerer sneaks into the palace in the dead of night, even Alex, who is virtually unbeatable, can't prevent him from abducting her, her fellow guard and friend Rylan, and Prince Damian, taking them through the treacherous wilds of the jungle and deep into enemy territory.

The longer Alex is held captive with both Rylan and the prince, the more she realizes that she is not the only one who has been keeping dangerous secrets. And suddenly, after her own secret is revealed, Alex finds herself confronted with two men vying for her heart: the safe and steady Rylan, who has always cared for her, and the dark, intriguing Damian. With hidden foes lurking around every corner, is Alex strong enough to save herself and the kingdom she's sworn to protect?

I honestly don't know why it took me so long to finally read this awesomely amazing book! I absolutely loved this story, from the secret identity right on down to the mixed feelings and the action.

This book takes you through Alexa's story, of how she became a guard of the crowned prince, Damian, wha she had to do to maintain that position, her grief over her loved ones and of her battling her emotions for the prince and her friend, Rylan. It has everything you need for an amazing story from start to finish. And did I mention 2 hot guys? Plus, plenty of action and magic?

I really enjoyed how the characters came together in this. There was really no gray area, it was pretty much black and white with them. Even though there was secrets to be held, it still was a kick-butt read. I can't wait to read Ignite and see where the romance, action and just the general story heads.
