Eleven minutes passed before Delaney Maxwell was pulled from the icy waters of a Maine lake by her best friend Decker Phillips. By then her heart had stopped beating. Her brain had stopped working. She was dead. And yet she somehow defied medical precedent to come back seemingly fine-despite the scans that showed significant brain damage. Everyone wants Delaney to be all right, but she knows she's far from normal. Pulled by strange sensations she can't control or explain, Delaney finds herself drawn to the dying. Is her altered brain now predicting death, or causing it?

Then Delaney meets Troy Varga, who recently emerged from a coma with similar abilities. At first she's reassured to find someone who understands the strangeness of her new existence, but Delaney soon discovers that Troy's motives aren't quite what she thought. Is their gift a miracle, a freak of nature-or something much more frightening?

For fans of best-sellers like Before I Fall and If I Stay, this is a fascinating and heart-rending story about love and friendship and the fine line between life and death.

My Review:
To tell you the truth, I honestly had a very hard time getting into this book at first, it made me cry, which was the last thing that I needed at that point in my life considering I was going through a really rough patch in my life. But then as I forced myself to go on and to read it, I found it to be simply amazing!

I don’t even know where to begin. I loved the chemistry between Delaney and Decker. They are great friends with an awkwardness of feelings between them. Sometimes you just wanted to give them a shove in the right direction and have them confront their feelings, and other times you just wanted to sit there and see what unfolds with them.

The character known as Troy was a troubled teen. At first you think he’s perfect for Delaney then you start to see something else unravel. Something dark, but something very troubled.

The story was amazing and you automatically felt like you were drawn to Delaney and had genuine feelings for her and her situation. Delaney had to go through so much in this book with her almost dying, to her troubled boyfriend, to a death of a friend. You just want to reach in and give her a big hug and tell her everything will be alright.

Final Thoughts:
With tears and laughter and heartfelt moments, this book is a must read. An amazing debut novel by debut author, Megan Miranda! I just simply cannot wait to read more by this great author!
