What Are You Reading Thursdays is a new feature I’m starting to discuss what we are reading that week. Each week we will feature the book we are reading and talk about it, tell what we like about it, what we don’t like about it and discuss what it’s about.  This week my book is: The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis

What I like:

I like about this book is the story. Even though I just started this book, the synopsis sounds amazing. So I really can't tell you a whole lot about this book right now.

 

What I don’t like:

I don't like the fact that the beginning of this book takes so long to get to anything good. It's a very slow starting book to me.

The Cover:

I think the cover is just simply beautiful, it was what drew me to the book in the first place.

What it's About:

Anna and Abel couldn’t be more different. They are both seventeen and in their last year of school, but while Anna lives in a nice old town house and comes from a well-to-do family, Abel, the school drug dealer, lives in a big, prisonlike tower block at the edge of town. Anna is afraid of him until she realizes that he is caring for his six-year-old sister on his own. Fascinated, Anna follows the two and listens as Abel tells little Micha the story of a tiny queen assailed by dark forces. It’s a beautiful fairy tale that Anna comes to see has a basis in reality. Abel is in real danger of losing Micha to their abusive father and to his own inability to make ends meet.
